Sherwood Park is set in the lovely and typical Tobago village of Carnbee. Spotlessly clean with huge, airy rooms and big beds with mosquito nets, this is a fab place to stay. It's pretty, relaxing, and has wonderfully efficient and friendly staff.

Facilities

Each apartment has its own fully fitted kitchen, bedroom, private balcony with views, and bathroom. Upstairs apartments have fans and sea views, downstairs apartments have air conditioning and garden views. 

Each apartment has either a double or two single beds, with high-quality box spring mattresses. An extra bed can be added, for a small additional charge. Most rooms have a dividing door to the adjacent apartment, making them ideal for families or groups. All apartments are fitted with ceiling fans and louvered French windows.

There's a lovely 40ft  x 25ft pool in a lush garden, daily cleaning and helpful staff.

The lovely - and efficient - Nigel picks you up from the airport and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Close to lovely beaches and golf. They lay on a daily minibus service from Sherwood Apts to Pigeon Point and Store Bay beaches for just a small cost. It's a pretty and friendly accommodation and service.

Out And About

Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. A BBQ is available outside to cook your catch on, and the staff do BBQs anyway. Beaches are a short drive away.

Castara Retreats Apartments, The Caribbean side of the island

A stunning accommodation built by an English couple who love the island. Castara is a quiet fishing village overlooking the Caribbean sea.

Facilities

You can book either the top floor Rainforest Penthouse apartment or one of the two lower floor Hummingbird apartments - or rent the whole lot for a family or group gathering. This is a really flexible and beautiful accommodation.

Rainforest Penthouse Apartment has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4.  Book either just Rainforest, or Hummingbird 1 or 2.

Most people who walk into Rainforest comment. on how amazing it is. The living and dining area is breathtaking - a spacious open plan space with sea views and a gorgeous cedar wood floor. This is a beautifully furnished space, with quality items, new equipment in a well stocked kitchen, and all in an amazing location with the rainforest behind you and the Caribbean at your feet.

The Hummingbird 1 and 2 apartments offer the same high standards of accommodation each for 2 people, and can be hired separately or together. Each has a well stocked kitchen and shower room and both are comfortable, private, and enjoy wonderful views and scenery.

Out And About

Castara is a small fishing village of 500 inhabitants on the Caribbean coast of the island. Backed by the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere, the village residents support themselves with a combination of fishing, tourism and environmental work. The beach is only a few minutes walk down a winding footpath and is excellent for bathing and snorkelling. The village is a four minute walk down the road. Pick up home made bread on Wednesdays and Saturdays, reserve a table for the evening at Marguarite's excellent restaurant, or order a take away, or collect provisions from the stores. The shops are simple, the people are delightful, and the mangoes are plentiful.

Porridge's Place, Castara

Simply Tobago is proud to feature locally owned and run properties in Tobago – offering quality, simple, re-assuring accommodation at a modest price. Leave the ratrace behind and chill. There are lots of places in the world where you can do that, but you’d have to pay through the nose for most of them. Not in Tobago.

Facilities

This is a lovely studio apartment which has been built below Porridge's main home. Porridge and his family are experienced managers of holiday properties and also run a successful jeep hire business.

They are well regarded and respected in the community. The studio has a bedroom, well equipped kitchen, and a showeroom.

The whole accommodation is modest but furnished to western standards. Mosquito nets hang over the queen size bed. Security safe, hairdryer, air conditioning, and a TV and radio are included.

Wonderful views and an abundance of wildlife around the area.

Other Information

Derrick Lopez (known locally as ‘Porridge’) and his wife Jeanelle live in one of Tobago’s most beautiful spots. Castara is not on the tourist map – this is a place where you go and fit in with the local life. It’s a fishing village with a few very good cafes and bars serving local food, and there’s a fabulous sandy beach and bay of indigo and turquoise water. Simply Tobago staff have met Porridge and Jeanelle and can highly recommend their services. They are lovely people.

Out And About

Castara village has some good restaurants and there is lovely beach that is wonderful for bathing. You are on the edge of the rainforest here and trips are easy to arrange.

The rates for Porridge’s Place are amazing value. Either US$40 ( about £20 ) per night or US$280 ( about £140 ) per week. That’s for the apartment, which is suitable for two people. Angel Apartments all have an light, airy lounge area, a fully self-contained well equipped kitchen and dining area, a full size cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, etc. A spacious bedroom with a king size bed, a large bathroom with large shower, and drying area.

The top and middle floors have a large verandah where you can sit, relax with a spectacular Caribbean Sea view ahead of you and look at the lovely variety of birds that pass by.

If the sea doesn't tempt you there is a pool for Angel Apartment residents to use to cool off. All linens and towels for use within the apartment are supplied.

There is a maid service. Taxis are easily available from Crown Point Airport to Castara. Car Hire is also easy and the Angel Apartment team can help with arrangements.

Other Information

The location of this accommodation makes it a holiday to remember. Your windows and balcony overlook a combination of deep green rainforest and the Caribbean Sea.

Out And About

It is a busy but quiet little fishing village and you will feel less like a tourist and more like one of the locals if you join in with Tobago life - generally chillin' and limin'. There are some good restaurants and bars in Tobago and you have quick and easy access to boat and rainforest trips from here.
